♡Beauty Battle: Skin79 BB Creams♡ Thought they were all the same?

Hi all my looooovelies <3

Long time, no BLOG!!!!!
It's been almost a month since the last blogpost on our Lava lipsticks.
Thought it was definitely time for more so here I am!

Today's Beauty Battle is on Skin79 BB Creams!!

If you're one of those people who just can't get your head out of makeup, I am PRETTY sure that by now you should have had come across "BB creams."

BB creams are the newest and revolutionary complexion/base make-up product that has been around for quite some time emphasising on the "ALL-IN-ONE" function of it being a skincare+primer+foundation.

SAY WHAT.......???!!!!!

I know, back then it sounds crazy.....but hey- Those claims really seemed to be TRUE as it is as light-weight as a primer with the coverage of a moderate foundation and also contains all the BENEFICIAL ingredients which we only see in skincare products.

As a result, BB creams were soon flyin' off to be one of the current hottest trends of the cosmetic products around the world booming all over Asia, the States and also over Europe.

It's ONLY that...........

things are a bit different down here in NZ where BB creams are only just starting to be noticed as Garnier recently launched the first-ever BB cream in New Zealand followed by a few high-end brands like MAC, Bobbi Brown etc....

Overall rating of them? Not Bad.....

However if you REALLY want to TRY real BB cream, you gotta first try
SKIN79!

Skin79 is like the FATHER of BB creams.
It is one of the first companies to launch BB creams in Korea, where BB creams originated.

The acronym "BB" stands for "Blemish Balm" which was a medicated base/balm from Germany sold in many dermatologists and Beauty Clinics to soothe/relieve and even out the redness of skin after harsh laser or peeling treatments.

Many korean celebrities were using it which was why it became popular in Korea in the first place. Despite the extremely high price and the medicated formula, unappropriate for make-up uses, the German blemish balm were selling out crazily in Korea and this made korean make-up companies to derive from the original Blemish balm and re-formulate it to suit for everyday use,
then launched it with the new name, "BB(Blemish Balm) Cream"

Currently in Elle-J.com, we retail 3 Skin79 BB Creams
(and are planned to increase the range of them in the future!)

(In the order of the picture above)

1) Super Plus Triple Function BB Vital Cream $29.00NZD

This is the newest BB cream launched by Skin79 out of the 3 BB creams retailed at Elle-j.com.
This has the same formula as the original Hot Pink BB cream but with an upgraded sun protection.
It has UVA/UVB protection of SPF50. Also this BB cream contains natural ingredients of Osmopur-N and Vital-V complex which soothes and protects the skin from harmful environment/UV rays making it especially suitable for us, NZers, as we are exposed to very strong sunlight all season!

2) VIP Gold Super Plus Beblesh Balm $27.50NZD

This BB cream is especially suitable for combination/dry skin. It contains all the beneficial ingredients of the Hot Pink BB cream PLUS more nutritious and moisturising ingredients like gold, caviar and Swiss almond oil to keep skin resilient and moist. It also contains improved wrinkle fighting properties which is one of the common result of dry/dehydrated skin.

3) Hot Pink Super Plus Triple Function Beblesh Balm $27.50NZD
This is Skin79's classic BB cream which has the 10-in-1 effect of whitening, Wrinkle improvement, UV protection, Sebum control, Nourishment etc. The Hot Pink BB cream is especially suitable for combination/oily skin as it has strengthened oil control formula.

Before we go any further, we would like to disclaim that ALL our Skin79 BB creams are....

♡AUTHENTIC-Our Skin79 BB creams are imported right from the Skin79 distributor
situated in Korea. The authenticity sticker (in the picture below) is
on every Skin79 BB cream retailed in Elle-j.com to show that they're
                               genuine!

♡FRESHLY MANUFACTURED-Because we import directly from the Skin79
distributor in Korea, we ALWAYS get the most
freshly made BB creams. You can check this by
looking at the bottom of the BB creams.

On the Orange Vital BB cream, you can check the expiry date by the printed date with the korean letters "까지" which means expired on. The above orange BB cream is expired on 22/03/2015.

On the VIP Gold BB cream, you can check the manufactured date by the printed date with the korean letters "제조" meaning manufactured. The above gold BB cream is manufactured on 26/01/2012.

Similarly, the Hot Pink BB cream has the printed date for manufacture(제조) which is 09/03/2012.

NOW ABOUT THE SHADE OF SKIN79 BB CREAMS!

Unlike a foundation or tinted moisturiser, BB cream comes with a single shade
(or for some, around two shades) and most people freak out and be like
"WTH????!!!!" but normally, BB creams are typically grey-toned/based(neutral)
which makes it very easy to blend out and naturally adjust to your skin tone whether you are yellow/pink based to create a very natural finish and NOT A MASK face :D

So next time you shop for a BB cream, don't be offended by its poor shade option!!

Typically, BB creams tend to be grey-based tone like the Hot Pink BB cream.
the Gold BB cream is a bit darker with stronger grey under-tone which would be suitable for darker skin tones. On the other hand, the Orange BB cream is the lightest/palest out of the three and is more of a yellow-based.

You can clearly see, from the picture above, that the Orange BB cream is the palest and is yellow-based. Its shade is not like a typical BB cream and is very similar to yellow-based foundations.
This could mean it may be harder to work with and blend into your complexion if you have darker skin tones.

The Gold BB cream has the typical grey-tone but darker than the Hot Pink BB cream and tends to be more yellow-based whereas the Hot Pink BB cream has a paler shade with a bit more pinky-tone to it.
In real life, the difference between the Gold BB cream and the Hot Pink BB cream is just slight and they're much easier to blend into your normal complexion due to its grey tone.

Here is a picture of the BB creams after blending it out onto the inside of my wrist.
You can see the difference of each BB cream; Orange being the palest, Gold- darker and yellow and Hot Pink- pinkier than the Gold/Orange.

But again, they're SUPER DUPER BLENDABLE unlike foundations which looks like a mask if you put on a lighter shade. These BB creams would, honestly, blend into skin tones of between NC15-NC30/35ish(MAC) easily and still give a SUPER natural, satin finish!!

SHADE (FROM PALEST TO DARKEST)

ORANGE(YELLOW-BASED)>HOT PINK(GREY-BASED)> GOLD (DARKER GREY-BASED)
